According to ESPN, Ohio State’s QB Troy Smith, Notre Dame’s QB Brady Quinn, and Arkansas’ RB Darren McFadden are the finalists for the 2006 Heisman Trophy. All three will be in attendance Saturday in New York when the winner is announced. If Smith wins, like many think, it will be the first time a Big Ten QB has won this award. Coverage starts Saturday at 8pm EST on ESPN.

Isn’t three a rather small number, even in a year where the winner is perceived?
