(Arkansas)
2005 SEC Freshman of the Year, Darren McFadden, underwent surgery on a dislocated toe yesterday morning following a bar fight outside a club in Little Rock. McFadden, who became the seventh freshman to rush for over a thousand yards in SEC history, dislocated his toe at a pre-dawn fight in front of Palace the Club, according to USA Today via AP. McFadden had a pin placed in his left big toe following the incident.
Arkansas camp starts Thursday with full practice starting Saturday.
“We are all disappointed that Darren won’t be able to join us for the start of fall camp. I know that no one is more disappointed with what has happened than Darren. While we are still gathering details about how the injury came about, our first priority is to help him with his recovery.” Razorback head coach Houston Nutt said in a statement yesterday.
The Razorbacks open against three time BCS finalist Southern Cal on September 2nd in the Hogs hardest out of conference game on their schedule this season.

He was the seventh Freshman to have a 1,000 yard season. At least, that’s what everyone else is saying. I haven’t heard “second”….

You’re right. Fixed. Thanks for the clarification.
