As I told you last week, Big Head from MizzouRAH assembled some bloggers to take part in some premature preseason predicting. Our first stop was to submit our Top 10 for the 2008 season. I listed mine last week, but below is the total from the list of bloggers assembled by Big Head. You can also read more about the poll by checking out MizzouRAH.

As you will see, Georgia is the unanimous #1 getting all 10 first place votes, which surprises me a little. Even though I did vote for them as #1, I expected someone to throw a USC vote in there, or even with all the Mizzou homers out there, maybe the Tigers would get one. Ten points were given for a first place vote; all the way to one for a tenth place vote. The total points are in parentheses.

1. Georgia (80)
2t. Oklahoma (65)
2t. USC (65)
4. Florida (48)
5. Mizzou (46)
6.the Ohio State (45)
7. LSU (23)
8. Clemson (17)
9.West Virginia (15)
10. Wisconsin (14)

Also receiving votes: Texas (11), Texas Tech (3), Penn State (3), Auburn (2), Fresno State (1)

Voters were from Corn Nation, Rock M Nation, Big MO Sports, In The Bleachers, MizzouRAH, CFB Weekly, and DXP

A Mizzou homer pick? No way!! HAHA

I waited to do mine until the end, and to be honest, I was fairly surprised with the unanimous Georgia vote until I got to thinking; Knowshon Moreno and Matthew Stafford make up a nice QB/RB battery, and USC isn’t sure who’s going to be the golden arm. I was more surprised that Oklahoma is #2. I could easily see them from 4-7 to start out, but not #2.

For the record, I’m a ‘Horns fan…but let me get something straight. Ohio State is returning what, 18 of 22 starters or something and the best they can do is 6th?? Seems like national title backlash to me…which is fine. Just someone explain to me how an Oklahoma team who continually flops in BCS games and loses the likes of Malcolm Kelly and Reggie Smith make it to #2..

    Jacob,

You’re right on Ohio State. I explained my votes at my site (Corn Nation), but I believe the Buckeyes will start struggling this season just because they’ve lost two title games in a row. I could care less that they have 18 of 22 returning, it doesn’t matter.

Oklahoma - they make it to #2 on the strength of a good returning quarterback and a veteran offensive line. The Sooners will always have a good defense, and Malcolm Kelly wasn’t even their top receiver last season.

    The top five are interchangeable…..

C-L-E-M-S-O-N!!!! Damn right the Clemson Tigers are in the top 10. Every college poll prediction shows the Tigers as high as 7 and as low as 10. BOO-YAAH
