Brian - you are correct on one point - the Buckeyes are loaded with talent and should make it back to the big game next year for a variety of reasons.
Until they win another title (everyone seems to forget all the titles they HAVE won), everyone can take shots at them - and it's fair.
The coaching staff failed to prepare them for 2006 game, and last year the coaching staff overplayed the "chip on our shoulders" thing causing personal fouls and generally poor execution when they needed it. It was not a lack of talent or speed (re: Chris Wells run past the enitre LSU defense in the 1st quarter))
, and it will not be a matter of lack of talent or speed over the next several years. So you're right - get used to seeing them in the top 5,
thats where they will stay. Time will tell whether they end up college footballs' version of the Buffalo Bills or the Patriots. My money says they will have won at least 2 championships during the decade. So the SEC can send a DIFFERENT team each year, and the Bucks will take them all on. (by the way -
didn't Michigan BEAT Florida last year?)
