#14: DE Brandon Lang, Troy
The Verdict: Perhaps a little low (or is that high?) on the countdown, Lang could end up being one of the hottest rising NFL draft prospects come November if he can duplicate last year's record setting performance. A downhill pass rusher who plays with tremendous technique and leverage, Lang was recently named a First Team All-Sun Belt selection at the conference's preseason media day. The accolade is just one of many for the 6-foot-4, 256-pound Lang, who could project as an outside linebacker in the right scheme in the NFL. While he benefited from a terrific supporting cast around him in 2008, Lang was nevertheless a terror for opposing quarterbacks in 2008, finishing the year with 10.5 sacks, 28 quarterback hurries, and 17.5 tackles for a loss. A former tight end at Hargrave Military Academy, Lang makes Troy's defense the most feared in the Sun Belt, and looks poised to join a star-studded group of former Troy players in the NFL.
